Inspire of Central Florida’s mission is to provide life skills and vocational training to developmentally and intellectually disabled adults, known as contract fulfillment specialists. These individuals have various diagnoses including down’s syndrome, spina-bifida, autism spectrum disorder and cerebral palsy. Their specialists participate in a variety of outside contracts, including direct mailing, product packaging, light assembly, manufacturing of survey stakes, creation of cement monuments and custom wood products such as corn hole games, picnic benches and Adirondack chairs.
Inspire of Central Florida’s staff also provides coaching to the associates in life skills, like laundry, cooking, personal hygiene and professional business etiquette. The nonprofit’s goal is to provide pre-employment coaching to their specialists to enhance their potential to compete for employment.
